What a wonderful world to drink cider in! The variety has never been broader, innovation abounds and traditions carry on. There’s funky Asturian sidra, bittersweet-based sips from Normandy, Québécois ice cider and ethereal perry from Somerset. Cider hopped with a single variety from Virginia, apples co-fermented with a hybrid berry from Oregon, habañero-infused cider from Texas, New York still ciders revealing all the secrets of the apple and blends centered on old American apples grown in Michigan.

An open call for submissions for the 2019 Cidercraft Awards shipped in myriad of these ciders, which were blind tasted by cider industry experts, researchers, growers, writers, producers and pommeliers to determine the top medalists in each category, plus runners-up labeled as Judges’ Picks [...]
